BizWest’s 40 Under Forty

Oct 21, 2020 | Life in Wellington, Projects, Work-Life Balance

Last year, I was honored to be recognized as one of Northern Colorado’s 40 Under Forty. BizWest’s 40 Under Forty program recognizes the region’s young professionals who are shaping the future of the local business communities. I was excited to just be nominated but when I was chosen as one of the top 40, I was elated!

After being chosen as one of the top 40, you work with the team at BizWest to take professional photos and approve the short article to be featured in their annual publication. You can view the publication I’m featured in here.

Every year, the program culminates at an event honoring the 40 young professionals. I was fortunate to have a big group of supporters join me at the event—my mom even flew in from Montana and surprised me! This year’s event will be a little bit different due to COVID-19 restrictions, so a smaller event with a virtual component will be held in November.

I was recently asked to serve on the committee that selects a new set of 40 exceptional young professionals for 2020. The volunteer committee is made up of past honorees, community leaders and professionals from diverse backgrounds. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity!

Upon nomination, applicants are asked to submit their resume and answer some short essay questions about their professional experience and community involvement. I was blown away by the caliber and number of applicants this year. Applicants come from many different Northern Colorado communities and sectors and they should be extremely proud of their accomplishments, whether they are selected or not.

This year’s 40 Under Forty program and event are generously sponsored by:

And a big “thank you” to Amanda and her team at The Place Setting Company for making the review process so seamless.

Congratulations to all this year’s honorees!
