If you know me, you know I’ve always been a supporter of local nonprofits and community organizations, even before my time as a business owner. Supporting Wellington causes as a business owner is important to me because it shows my commitment to making this little town an even better place.
Giving back to the community feels great but it also offers me the opportunity to meet new people and create new connections. I’ve met so many awesome people through my involvement in programs and events like Wellington Brewfest, the Wellington Fun Run 0.5K, and the Wellington Main Street Program!
In reflecting over the last few years of business ownership, it’s really amazing to look back on some of the ways I’ve been able to make an impact, however small or large. Giving back to the community that supports my business is truly rewarding.
Here are some of my favorite causes and organizations to support:
Wellington Brewfest
Since co-founding Wellington Brewfest in 2018, we’ve managed to raise more than $30,000 for the Wellington Main Street Program. Wellington Brewfest is a partnership between Cantina Liquors, Old Colorado Brewing Company, M Rock Creative, SarahB In Stitches, and Soul Squared Brewing Company.
In addition to Wellington Brewfest’s support of Main Street, I also serve as the Promotion Committee Chair and Secretary of the Board of Directors.
Qualified Listeners
Being the wife of a Veteran, it’s a no-brainer that I support organizations like Qualified Listeners. I met Greg, the Executive Director, through a mutual friend and worked with him to build a new website as an in-kind donation.
Wellington Fun Run 0.5K
I’ve worked with Old Colorado Brewing Company for years and their team has always been interested in supporting the Wellington community. In 2019, they hosted the first 0.5K fundraiser for the Wellington Main Street Program and they’re bringing it back for 2021. I’m proud to be sponsoring this event once again!
American Legion Wellington Post 176
When I was asked to sponsor the American Legion Wellington Post 176‘s 4th of July Beer Garden, I couldn’t say no! I’m so excited to see what this group does in the future and I’m thankful for the work they put into supporting Wellington’s Veterans.
NoCo Grinders Baseball
I grew up playing youth sports and recognize the important role they play in shaping a child’s future. I’m proud to support the NoCo Grinders baseball team through sponsorships and website services.
