Refining a Complex Multi-Agency Identity into a Clean, Recognizable Brand
Northern Colorado Bomb Squad is a specialized, multi-jurisdictional public safety team made up of professionals from Fort Collins Police Services, Loveland Police Department, and Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. Their work requires precision, trust, and seamless coordination, but their existing logo didn’t reflect that reality. The original mark was overly complex, difficult to reproduce, and challenging to use consistently across uniforms, vehicles, and equipment.
They came to M Rock Creative seeking a brand identity that was clean, recognizable, and highly functional, without losing the important symbolism tied to the different departments and jurisdictions that make up the Bomb Squad.
This project focused on simplifying the visual identity while preserving meaning. I redesigned the logo to be bold, scalable, and easy to reproduce across a wide range of real-world applications, from apparel and vehicles to printed materials and digital use. The final mark brings together key elements from each participating department into a unified, cohesive design that feels authoritative, professional, and immediately identifiable.
Rather than over-designing, the goal was clarity and longevity: a brand that could be used confidently in high-visibility, high-stakes environments while representing the collective strength of the Northern Colorado Bomb Squad.

Megan sent me all the files I needed to use the new logo on a website or to have it printed onto some new uniform shirts. Looking forward to putting the logo on our truck!!
